NCPC awards Carbon Neutral certification
Ex-Pack Corrugated Cartons PLC, was recently awarded the Carbon Neutral certificate, upon successfully neutralizing its total Greenhouse Gas emission. Ex-Pack’s sustainable practices were captured comprehensively throughout the process, with organizational-wide assessments related to energy consumption, water consumption, waste management, transportation etc. of the organization. The verification of GHG assessments were conducted by the National Cleaner Production Centre (NCPC), where co-energi, a building engineering services consultancy company specializing in green building, MEP design consultancy and carbon neutral consultancy, together in partnership with Ex-pack, calculated the GHG emissions and guided the pathway in achieving Carbon Neutrality.
This achievement is truly remarkable considering the nature of its sector, which utilizes heavy machinery. The Carbon Neutral status follows months and years of hard work and commitment through diverse programs focused on offsetting its impact on the ecology.
Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Certification
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide. FSC defines standards based on agreed principles for responsible forest stewardship that are supported by environmental, social, and economic stakeholders. As a responsible manufacturer, Ex-pack has ensured its commitment to environmental sustainability through obtaining FSC certification.
ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management System Certification
Ex-pack certified for ISO 9001-2000 Quality Management system in 2006 and obtained ISO 9001-2008 in May 2010 and currently the certification is upgraded to ISO 9001-2015 which was received in September 2017
ISO 14001 – 2015 Environment Management System
As a responsible manufacturer, Ex-pack has adpted on environmentally friendly manufacturing process and has taken steps to identify and control their environmental impact and constantly improve their environmental performance. Hence they were awarded the ISO 14001-2015 Environment Management System Certification by SGS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.
WRAP – Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production
Ex-pack is the first and only Corrugated Carton manufacturer in Sri Lanka to receive the prestigious Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) certification. This is awarded by an independent, objective, non-profit team of global social compliance experts dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing around the world through certification and education. The certification ensures that all Ex-pack products are manufactured under stipulated conditions, which cover not only ethical labour, but health and safety, environmental protection and supply chain security as well.
